n4ce UI and System Features n4ce is Project Based with data being stored within the same file. This has a SDB filename extension and is self contained holding all the detail required, including defaults, to recall a project even when passed onto another n4ce user.

Various data types can be stored in a Project Tree including control Station coordinates, used in reduction and adjustment calculations, raw survey Observations, point Coordinates, CAD models, DTM models, Sections, Drawings and Alignments.
A Spread Sheet or List format is provided with edit functions via right click menu options. Block edits are permissible. |

The User Interface (UI) is via Windows Menus, Icons (user defined) and Hot Keys making n4ce intuitive and easy to use.
In general there are two ways of viewing data, either list or graphics. We call this Duality of Display and Edit since changes made in one environment is reflected in the other.
Multiple data windows can be opened and active on your desktop. We recommend twin monitors if your graphics card supports this feature. |
Having different data types begs the question "can you see these superimposed?". Well of course you can using something called Backcloths. Note the CAD image in the lage view above. Setting out data can be extracted from CAD using a CAD Backcloth and passed to a Total Station or GPS using the nLogger program or a user defined XYZ Filter.
The Windows Clipboard provides Copy, Cut and Paste facilities for all the different data types. This applies within Projects or across Projects. For those of you that make the odd faux pas, multi-step undo/redo is provided.
And for those special occasions when you've really made a hash of things or you've had a system failure n4ce has an automatic backup facility. These TMP files can be renamed and projects recalled from the last autosave.
