n4ce Point Projections
These are used in the Professional edition to show the perpendicular distance and slope between points and a reference string, as shown below.  As part of the process, n4ce will create Dimensions that can be accessed by other tools for Text and Tables.  This is particularly useful if you are working on railway surveys.

The Projections option is used to compare widths and gradients between parallel strings.  The reference string could be either survey features or a CAD polylines.

Points can be Copied, Moved or Neither.  When computing levels the options are Interpolate, Retain or Null.

Having selected a reference string the points you intend to project need to be identified.  This is where the Pick option comes in with Element, Rectangle or List.

You will notice to the right of the dialog box above there are check buttons against various dimensions.  These include Point Code, Offset Distance, Slope Distance, Cant, Slope and Gradient.

Dimensions and Text Macros are really useful here and allows you to display various Dimensions as text items alongside points, as shown here.

A further extension of the software allows you to tabulate points in a Table with Dimensions using List as shown opposite.
