Partitions in n4ce When working in n4ce, you will be expected to nominate a working scale for folders containing graphics detail. This applies to all items on the Project Tree and determines amongst other items, the size of text as it appears on the screen. Text sizes are in mm at the final plot scale.
At some stage, you will need to plot you survey, or CAD drawing, and it's at this stage that you need to nominate a paper size and plot scale. If this is the base plan and you've been working at the final plot scale, then no problems, but if you change the plot scale from say 1250 to 500 then the text will appear to re-size. This 500 scale drawing may be required to zoom into detail.
n4ce has a feature, which takes account of this automatically keeping text at correct relative sizes. This is called Partitions. A by-product of this is that any edits to the base drawing will automatically appear in the Partiton. The Partitions option can be accessed in both CAD and Model editor graphics views. In the under laying example below, you will see the partition key Plan. The foreground view is a sample partition, at the nominate paper size and scale.

Firstly, a Drawing should be created with the correct paper size and a View port at the correct viewing scale.
It could also contain a title box and notes, as required. This will be stored as a Drawing Template, external to the Project. The A3 Drawing Template shown opposite was created with a View Port scale of 200. |

Once a Template has been created this can be used to overlay a base drawing, using the options in the menu shown above.
These Partitions will automatically create a Drawing on the Project Tree, shown opposite. |
Once the Partitions have been placed, they are live. Any changes made to the original Model or CAD folder are automatically reflected in the Partition. Should you choose to change the View port scale, position or size in a Drawing Partition, these are also reflected in the original plan. See Lite discussions for more detail on Drawings.
