Model Merging and Copying
Model creation and editing has been covered elsewhere.  Here we will be looking at how n4ce handles not individual features or triangles but whole models.

With the introduction of n4ce we also have useful Windows tools can be take advantage of namely Cut, Copy and Paste using the Windows Clipboard.  It's no longer necessary to create export files if you wish to copy or move data from one Project to another.

n4ce is clever enough to know what you are copying - like for like.  Copying observation data to an observation folder, CAD layers to a CAD folder and coordinates to Stations, Model or Coordinates folders.  More importantly here is the ability to copy a complete model folder including the Dedicated CAD Backcloth to another new model folder, either in the same project of more likely to another project.

n4ce has made it even easier to copy models within the same project by using the Copy menu option as shown opposite.  Again this copies the whole model including coded Points, DTM triangles and Dedicated CAD Backcloth.

You will also note the Merge and Combine options.   The former allows you to burn a foreground model with a DTM into a background model also with a DTM.

The outline boundary of the foreground model is used as a template to cut out both points and triangles from the background model.  The foreground model is then stitched into the background as shown in the main picture above to create a new model.

The Combine model option simply adds points fand triangles from the foreground model to the background model to form a new model.
