Slopes and Haul Roads n4ce provides a number of different tools for creating new strings and modifying these before introducing these into a DTM for volume calculations and 3D visualisations.

|
Standard feature string editing tools are available in the Features menu, as shown opposite. These have already been discussed with the Professional edition, but it is worth pointing out here the options available, which include grading and densifying of strings, either along the whole length or between points. |

A special Profile Template option allows you to sweep out parallel strings along a pre-defined feature string.
These strings can be defined in terms of offset, grade and batter intercept with a DTM. Profile Templates may be used with other tools in n4ce to generate simple road layouts. See below for Haul Roads. |
|
Haul roads are used to transfer quarried material from the face to the crushing plant in the most economical way. This means designing these roads with an optimum grade that allows these trucks to work most efficiently.
There are two aspects to this design. Firstly is the Haul Slope, and secondly the Side Slope, which determines the stability of the slope. |
